Coin Shipments

Coin was shipped from the Sub Treasury in boxes to avoid coin abrasion and consequent gold loss in transport. Gold bars were shipped in barrels packed with saw dust, from the Assay Office. Although this photo is captioned as an Assay Office shipment, it is most likely the Sub Treasury.
